This was the only day with a forecast for sunshine, so we wanted to make the most of it and enjoy the view from the New York Bar at the Park Hyatt hotel. It was super fancy, and we paid through the pants for a couple of cocktails and truffle fries, but the view was worth it. We left before they whacked an additional cover charge for the live jazz band.
We headed to a yakitori alley in Golden Gai and stopped at one that caught our fancy. Luckily for us there was a lovely guy who worked there and spoke a bit of English. With English menus in hand, we ordered various bits and pieces: chicken skin, chicken liver, breast, heart, thigh with leek, neck, meatball and breast with wasabi. And of course some delicious Japanese biru (beer) to wash it all down with.
On the way home from dinner we found an entrance to the subway from our hotel! And all this time we’d been walking about 2km to what we thought was the closest subway station!! For all our efforts we finished off with a fraiser at the hotel patisserie.
